A husband and wife team with one dream: saving the birds. Cielo and Peter’s bird sanctuary came to fruition after years of keeping their own birds and realizing there were many birds that were constantly being abandoned by previous owners due to different circumstances including misinformation about parrot keeping.

Their mission started growing as more people turned to them to find a home for displaced birds. After having a significant amount of rescued parrots, the idea of a sanctuary was born. Gaia Animal Sanctuary was created by two individuals who believe in second chances and standing up for a good cause, the bird’s cause.

As they continue their journey into saving more parrots, we encourage anyone thinking about purchasing a bird, to make an educated decision and make sure it’s the right fit to own any exotic pet. Together we can make a difference in preventing the displacement and abandonment of these beautiful and intelligent creatures.
